About the role

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our dynamic and friendly team. The HRBP is responsible for building strong consultative relationships with line managers, in order to partner with them to provide expertise, advice and support across all HR functions.  Reporting directly to the Senior Manager - Human Resources, this is a fantastic opportunity to display and develop your HR expertise, as a key member of our Support Services function.

This is a permanent full time role, working full time 38 hours per week.  Both inter and intrastate travel will be required.


The main responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation on a day to day basis
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Support the implementation of the performance and talent management processes, coach line managers in people management processes.
  • Lead projects regarding restructuring or people solution initiatives that will benefit the different areas and centres
  • Conduct employee group interventions to build a positive culture. Oversee the employee relations climate and partner with centres of expertise on actions
  • Analysing, reporting and recommendations on HR KPI dashboards a client group of centres and actively working to improve results


About you

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Knowledge of HR metrics and ability to benchmark, measure, analysis and articulate the value and ROI of HR initiatives, practices and policies
  • Commitment to excellence and a strong sense of self-accountability
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations or Management
  • Previous experience in the Aged Care or Health industry would be well regarded although not essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a generalist Human Resources in a similar role
  • Demonstrate a high level of understanding of modern HR processes, models and theory in a practical way to provide people solution to managers
  • Able to travel interstate to your client group in Queensland and the ACT at times
  • Flexibility with hours at times to meet the operational requirements of the role
