Salvos Legal is an award-winning social enterprise law firm owned by The Salvation Army.  We act for NSW and Federal Government agencies, ASX 200 companies, SMEs, Not-for-Profits and individuals.  Uniquely, all of our profits fund our humanitarian arm, Salvos Legal Humanitarian, which provides free legal services to vulnerable members of the community.

Our firm was recognised as the 2014 Law Firm of the Year in the Australian Law Awards and was awarded Australian Law Firm of the Year (up to 100 lawyers) and Corporate Citizen Firm of the Year at the 2016 and 2017 Australasian Law Awards.

The Role…

We are on the hunt for an Education & Training Administrator to co-ordinate the our internal and external education programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management, be hard working, have an ability to work autonomously, and take initiative. The role is part-time, for a maximum of 22.8 hours per week (can be undertaken over 3-5 days per week) and will be based out of our Headquarters in Sydney (151 Castlereagh Street).

The education and training program comprises both internal and external offerings. The external program delivers fee generating continuing legal education in the form of the Good Law Podcast, Generous Generals seminars, and Salvos Legal Lecture Series. The internal program involves managing the delivery of inductions and ongoing legal and non-legal education to both employed staff and volunteers across all offices and Advice Bureaus. The Education & Training Administrator is also responsible for identifying ongoing external educational opportunities for all volunteers and staff.

You ….

To secure this exciting opportunity you will possess tertiary or vocational qualifications in a relevant discipline or at least 1 year’s experience in an education or training role. Law firm or charity sector experience would be highly regarded but not essential. You will be seeking the opportunity to join a team where you can deliver quality services and make a positive difference.  You will have a customer service focus, with a high proficiency in the use of technology. Experience with podcasts will be desirable. 

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.  You will demonstrate initiative in problem solving and a desire to work with people in a friendly, personable and positive way.
